The toys of summer! On Saturday, September 13th, 2008 at 10:30 am, four hundred and fifty classic cars and motorcycles, and six thousand people will converge on the beautiful Colonial Downs Race Track to show, compete and watch the pony's run at what will soon become Virginia's pre-emanate gathering of beautiful "HorsePower".
A production of Colonial Downs, directed by Reliance Motor's Dick Ledford, and fellow car enthusiasts, Robert Lantz and Bill Bates, the HorsePower Classic and Collectable Car & Motorcycle Show would like to extend an invitation for you to join us for a day at the races.
A limited number of vendor and new car dealer display places are available for you to "share your wares" with the auto and racing enthusiasts in attendance. We invite your attention to the following demographics for Colonial Downs:
Average attendance - 2,200 per day.
Average Saturday will draw between 3,000 and 3,500.
Promotional Saturday will draw between 4,000 and 5,000.
Male to female ratio at the track: 60/40.
Average age of customer - 42.
The 3 levels of the track facility cater to different clientele: 4th floor Turf Club caters to higher rollers and groups that pay between $28 to $45 for an afternoon (does not include betting money). 3rd floor Jockey Club Dining Room seats 500 and caters to people who like a decent meal; they pay $10 each to get a table seat. 1st floor trackside level includes every demographic imaginable, from families to empty nesters, from Generation-X'ers to seniors, from blue collar to white collar executives.
In short, a great crowd of affluent, horse and car loving individuals out for a day to spend money, look at cars, and enjoy themselves.
If you think you might like some additional information regarding display and vendor fees, and how you can help a local and well regarded non-profit raise a "few" dollars, please contact Dick Ledford at (804) 222-6860. We would love to see you there!
